About

Thomas Alexander Kolbe is a keyboardist and music producer, part of the dance music duo CLUB OF TONE and creator behind the house and chillout project TOPAZZ.

Kolbe also studies the history of Japanese music and its associated culture. Another area of his research, since 2024, is the connection between music, neurology, and psychology. Since 2024, Kolbe has been writing on these subjects.

Born in Potsdam, Germany in 1967, Kolbe was interested in music from a young age. His father taught him to play the accordion. Later, Kolbe switched to keyboard instruments such as piano, keyboards, and synthesizers.

Kolbe is also active in composing sync music for TV shows.

Outside of music and academic pursuits, Kolbe draws ideas from his travels and cultural experiences. He lives in Nagoya, Japan, and integrates these influences into his art and life.
